Like many upscale neighborhoods in Atlanta, East Lake boasts its own security patrol. The East Lake Security Patrol is a community-based, non-profit organization promoting sustained safety and security in East Lake. The patrol is operated by a volunteer board and funded by residents and businesses in East Lake.

Although a separate entity from the East Lake Neighbors Community Association (ELNCA), the two organizations work collaboratively toward the same goal of making the community a safer place to live.
